- Preamble
These Terms of Use are entered into between Companion Cruises (“we”, “us”) and you (the “user”). By using our website and services, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, which govern your access to and use of our services, whether paid or free. Our primary purpose is to help adults over the age of 55, who are single, divorced, or widowed, find suitable companions to share cruise cabins and other travel experiences.
Companion Cruises is a connection service that allows users to connect with others for the purpose of finding cruise or travel companions. We are not a travel agent or tour operator. Companion Cruises does not book, arrange, or take payment for any cruise or travel holidays. All travel arrangements, bookings, and payments are made directly between users and their chosen cruise/travel/tour companies/operators. While we may align partnerships or affiliate programmes with cruise or travel operators, any cruises or travel holidays booked are the sole responsibility of the member and the travel provider.
For additional trust and safety, Companion Cruises offers members the option to complete ID and DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks through a third-party provider, giving members and their families peace of mind when using the platform.
Therefore, we cannot be held responsible for issues between any members of Companion Cruises and the members’ chosen travel/tour companies, including any financial transactions, cancellations, or changes. Any recommendations we provide for using a specialist cruise operator/agent need to be double-checked by the members to ensure they are ABTA or ATOL registered, to ensure Companion Cruises members’ cruise/travel holidays are protected. - Acceptance of Terms of Use
By creating an account on Companion Cruises, you agree to be bound by:
• These Terms of Use
• Our Privacy Policy
• Our Safety Guidelines
If you do not agree to these terms, you must stop using our services immediately.
These terms may be updated or modified over time. Your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. - Eligibility to Use Services
You can only use our services if:
• You are over 55 years old and single, divorced, or widowed.
• You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
• You have never been convicted of a crime involving fraud, violence, or misconduct.
• You have never been on a sex offender registry.
• You provide truthful, accurate, and current information during registration.
• You agree to use our services solely for personal and non-commercial purposes to find a travel companion.
Unless reserved for a certain category of users as may be specifically required upon registration (for example, when available, our services catered for users over 55 years only), our Services are open to every adult above 55 years, provided that they respect the criteria of the eligibility statement below. If you are under 55, you are not authorized to access the Services and must immediately stop using them.
Failure to meet these criteria can result in immediate suspension or termination of your account. - Registration and Account Responsibilities
To use our services, you must register by providing accurate information, including your contact details, a valid email, and other required personal information. You agree to keep your information updated and accurate.
We offer optional ID checks and DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks to ensure trust and safety for members and peace of mind for their families. These checks are facilitated by a third-party provider. Therefore, it is important to ensure that your details are accurate at the point of registration.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Any activity performed under your account is your responsibility. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, you must notify us immediately.
You may not create more than one account. By providing information, you waive the right to claim infringement on image, reputation, or privacy rights due to the distribution of your information on our platform. - Rules of Conduct

While Companion Cruises checks the results via a third-party platform to validate these checks, it is the sole responsibility of the members to double-check this information and ensure its accuracy between themselves. Companion Cruises cannot be held responsible for any members’ dishonest actions. We only see a pass or fail during validation checks.
